I spend a lot of time making studies at my local beach, Bantham which is just a couple of miles from my art studio. The beautiful silhouette of Burgh Island and the changing light, weather and tides are a source of endless inspiration. I usually sit up high in the dunes on Bantham Ham, and make sketches in paint to work on back in the studio. This piece captures a sliver of pink sky as the tide rolls in over the vast sand bars. Pebble and rock motifs are etched into the surface.
